a documentary film by Alexander Kuznetsov.

Synopsis

Yulia and Katia are both interned in a Siberian psychiatric hospital. At 18 years old, they were deprived of their civil rights and transferred in a “madhouse” ruled by an internal regulation. On the basis of a recent law, the director of the hospital tries to help them to escape this internment. Step by step, I follow this tangled path: forensic expert assessment, court ruling. What will happen to Yulia and Katia ? I don’t know it yet, but as I stay on their side, I want to believe that a solution exists even for the most desperate situation. And that, eventually, that solution leads to freedom.
