SYNOPSIS

Mariène, 16 years old, refuses to follow her father who’s leaving Reunion Island, where she was born. But does she still belong to this place?

« This movie is a revelation: made with a huge modestly, through a non-directive work with the actors, this fiction seems more real than a documentary. Without lapsing into a « local neo-realist » sentimentality, the camera is offering a loving gaze, without popularity seeking, and deals with the affirmation of oneself without target or standard. This is about affective life, in its little nothings and great moments of a discreet life. That’s how creoles are. »
